  • Judge of the Tulare County Superior Court 1988-1999
  • Recognized as a creative judge with features on 60 minutes, Time Magazine, People Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Parade Magazine, and other media.
  • Judge of the Visalia Municipal Court 1986-1988 
  • Responsible for computerization of courts and won a contested election with 76% of the vote.
  • Attorney in solo private practice 1984-1986 Visalia, CA 
  •  Maintained a successful law practice with two full-time paralegals and three other staff.
  • Attorney in private practice - Hurlbutt, Clevenger, Long & Vortmann 1977-1984 Visalia, CA
