Biographical
Mr. Stevenson has been a trial attorney for 49 years litigating on both the plaintiff and the defense side. This makes him uniquely qualified to address matters from both perspectives during the mediation. He has served as an arbitrator since 1980 and as a mediator since 1997. He is intimately familiar with confidentiality issues in the mediation process given his role in the Foxgate v Bramalea matter and as an amicus in the Rojas v. Superior Court and the Simmons v. Ghaderi cases before the Superme Court, as well as the Wimsatt v Superior Court matter in the 2nd Appellate District. He handles a wide variety of cases, including legal malpractice, medical malpractice, construction defects and contracts, personal injury matters as well as products liability, real estate and professional malpractice in various areas.
Mr. Stevenson has also served as a lecturer on the subject matter of confidentiality and mediator ethics with such organizations as the Center for International Legal Studies, American Bar Association, Southern California Mediation Association, California Dispute Resolution Council, ADR Section of the Orange County Bar Association, as well as at Chapman University, UCLA Law School and for McGeorge School of Law.
