Biographical
Mr. Gibbs spent the first 25 years of his career representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals and sureties in construction industry matters and disputes. Since 1996, Mr. Gibbs has worked exclusively as a mediator, arbitrator and project neutral of construction, insurance and business disputes in both the public and private sectors and has mediated or arbitrated more than 2000 matters. Mr. Gibbs has written many books and articles on construction industry-related topics, including California Construction Law, now in its 18th edition and has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School. He has also conducted many seminars for construction trade groups and professional associations nationwide and has been a principal speaker on many occasions at the Construction SuperConference. Mr. Gibbs is a fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers and is a member of the Public Contract law Section and the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry of the American Bar Association. He is an arbitrator on the State of California Public Works Arbitration Panel. Mr. Gibbs has been named by the Daily Journal as one of the top 40 neutrals in California and is ranked in "Band One" of construction mediators by Chambers USA.
